The pacific northwest hosts a wide variety of beautiful plants that can be hand made into useful, environmentally friendly cordage and rope. Some of these plants are native, like western red cedar and stinging nettles, and others are ornamental like yucca, blackberry, and dogbane.

In this community session, led by outdoor enthusiasts Kevin Barber & Ryan Johnson, come learn the ancient art of processing and making your very own cordage that can be used in the garden, camping, hiking, survival, and more!

This program is free and open to the public. Materials will be provided. Registration is encouraged but not mandatory (this will help us determine how much material to prepare). Registration can be found below.

Parking is available at Chuckanut Center. If the lot is full, please find additional parking next door at Fairhaven Park.
