South Sound Wildlife Walk ($15)

  • Inspiring Kids Preserve (Capitol Land Trust) Address provided upon RSVP 15 minutes north east of downtown Olympia Washington (map)

Let’s take a walk on the banks and forests of the incredible South Sound to study the flora and fauna that live there! This outing, in partnership with Capitol Land Trust, will be guided by naturalists and wildlife trackers from Firecraft Northwest. During this session, we’ll identify trees and plants, listen for birds that stay north through the winter, look for fungi, and study animal tracks and signs along the way!

This will be a slow paced hike of easy to moderate difficulty -- the trail includes slightly uneven terrain and includes a large hill. All skill levels and areas of interest are welcome. Kids are welcome under the supervision of a parent or guardian.

This outing is on a Capitol Land Trust site not yet open to the public. We will provide the exact address after registration, but it is located 15 minutes northeast of downtown Olympia, between South Bay and Beachcrest. We will be joined by a representative from Capitol Land Trust who will share more about the space!
