Happy Hour Hike - Fall Foraging (free)

  • Squaxin Park 2600 East Bay Drive Northeast, Olympia, WA 98506 Bellingham Washington (map)

Swap the happy hour drink for an interactive hike at Squaxin Park about PNW fall edibles! We'll do a slow-moving walk through the trails at Squaxin, stopping to learn about plants, fungi, and even trees that have edible components to them, some of which can still be foraged in the fall season. We'll touch on the main points of Honorable Harvesting and ways you can be a community- and sustainability-minded local forager. We'll also share our favorite resources we use for learning more about local wild edibles.

NOTE - because this is a city park, we will not be foraging items to take home, but rather using real-life demonstrations so you can forage on your own at other locations.

We'll meet at the parking area near the Samarkand Rose Garden for the Squaxin East Loop Trail.
