Wildflowers and Plants of the Oak Prairie [$35]

  • Scatter Creek Wildlife Area Rochester, WA, 98579 United States (map)

Below the South Sound and many areas of Western Washington and Oregon remain a small fraction of beautiful Oak Prairies that once stretched far and wide. During this outing, walk the Scatter Creek Wildlife Area to learn and study the Spring wildflowers and plants blooming in this incredible habitat.

This plant-focused walk will be a flat, easy meander along the trails of the prairie. We will stop frequently to study plants and wildflowers, learning their names, ethnobotany, history, and ecology. Participants will learn relevant botany basics and useful terminology.

Registered participants will receive an email leading up to the event with information about the outing and where to park within this conservation unit to meet up with the group.

P.S. This will be on Mother’s Day, so don’t forget to sign up with your mom (or at least call her).
